- When should I see a doctor?
- Not always necessary to go to the doctor but some groups should
- People in the high risk groups should see a doctor immediately
- People with a chronic medical illness,
- Parents with children younger than 5
- Pregnant women
- Children under 19 on aspirin
- Senior citizens
- Nursing home residents
- People whose immune systems are not working well because of illness or medications
- Someone who is otherwise healthy and experiences:
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
- Pain or pressure in the chest
- Stomach pain
- Sudden dizziness
- Confusion
- Severe or continuous vomiting
- An improvement in flu symptoms but they return with increased fever and worse cough
- What should I do if I feel sick?
- Ibuprofen/acetaminophen for fever
- Drink plenty of fluids
- Make sure to wash your hands regularly
- Humidifier, saline nose spray, lozenges.
- No smoking!
